Ever since the Neue Jadewerft shipyard was founded in 1948, we have maintained close, long-term ties with our customers in the area of merchant shipping. In addition to our extensive repair work, our shipyard was engaged in building new merchant ships until well into the 1990s, including buoy tenders, icebreakers, supply vessels, fishing vessels and ocean-going and harbour tugboats. We were also commissioned by Germany’s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) to build the Komet research vessel, which we successfully completed in 1969. To this day, we are entrusted with regularly repairing, servicing and maintaining the majority of the vessels built at the Neue Jadewerft shipyard.
In the mid-1990s we focused our portfolio on our core line of business and have since offered our customers professional repairs, servicing and maintenance work for a wide array of vessel types. This includes the maintenance of crude oil tankers, work on idle LNG carriers and the mobilisation and overhaul of offshore vessels. Our longstanding business relations and the sense of trust we have built up with well-known shipping companies are of fundamental importance to us and we actively nurture these ties.
